CHARLOTTE, N.C. — For the past week, KSL Radio's star correspondent has been immersed in all things political at the Democratic National Convention. Summer Mull has been mingling with delegates, meeting stars and trying her hand at reporting.

Summer started as one of several KSL listeners vying for a chance to participate in the convention.

"Every day for a week we had to get drilled by Doug Wright on politics and our opinion," she explained.

But being grilled by Doug Wright paid off, and Summer was chosen to join him in Charlotte to help report on the convention.

A resident of Sugar House, she works in Adobe's marketing department. Her dad's a Democrat, and mom's a Republican. So it was an easy choice of who to bring along with her for the trip.

"It's been exciting," Summer's father, Gary Mull, said of his week in Charlotte. "I grew up, as Summer said, in a Democratic family; never been to a local caucus."

On top of the serious business — interviewing delegates and providing perspective on the Doug Wright Show — Summer and Gary also got to have some fun.

Just some of the people she's met: Mayor Ralph Becker, Rev. Jesse Jackson — and let's not forget Hollywood. The father-daughter duo has also met Rosario Dawson, Ty Pennington, Beau Bridges and Perez Hilton.

"I saw Perez Hilton, who's kind of a goofy guy, but it made some of my friends back home kind of excited," Summer said.

And while it was a picture-perfect week for Summer, she's still not sure who she'll vote for in November. "I'm undecided, but I am saying I am probably leaning towards (Mitt) Romney," she said.

Surprisingly, Dad agrees. Gary said he too will probably vote for Romney.
