SALT LAKE CITY — Two-a-days are underway for the Utes, which officially means we are in the dog days of summer.

As the temperatures along the Wasatch Front soar into the low 100s today, Utah's first string offense was equally as hot, putting up points left and right in a tremendous red zone effort Wednesday morning at Rice-Eccles Stadium.

"The ones were physical, they executed well," head coach Kyle Whittingham said after the first of two practices today.

"The ones had a great day in the red zone, I think we scored almost every play," quarterback Jordan Wynn said. "We were really efficient, ran the ball well. The offensive line looked good - the list goes on and on. We just have to continue to do that."

Wynn looked extremely sharp, commanding the offense to scores and utilizing a position group that has been on the rise recently up on the hill - tight ends.

"It is a strength for us," Whittingham said about the tight end group. "There are five of them that are all right there in a pack, there's really nobody that has separated themselves. They all are going to play a role."

Although only a junior in eligibility, this is Jordan's fourth fall camp. With that extra experience, Wynn said that the game has slowed down for him.

"I joke with our defense because I know our defense as well as any of them for the most part, because I've been here for so long," Wynn said. "I'm just looking forward to getting out there and staying healthy this year."

Wynn's message to Utah fans? "Come out to Northern Colorado. We are out here getting ready!"

The Utes will practice later this afternoon and have their first scrimmage of the fall tomorrow.

Utah QB Jordan Wynn's 'Locks of Love'

Utah football fans may have noticed a significant appearance change for junior QB Jordan Wynn when camp began last week.

Wynn arrived to camp sans his long brown hair, for a much shorter, clean look.

This University of Utah athletics video looks at the story behind Wynn's long locks. He explains that he grew his hair after his late grandmother was diagnosed with cancer. He decided to grow his hair as she was losing hers, and promised to donate his hair to Locks of Love, a charity that donates human hair to young kids who have been diagnosed with medical conditions.

The video gives Coach Kyle Whittingham's reaction to his QB's new look and shows Wynn getting his hair chopped off.
