BYU linebacker Kyle Van Noy is among the nominees for the Bronco Nagurski Trophy, given annually to the nation's most outstanding defensive player. Van Noy joins Cougar offensive lineman Braden Hansen in being named to a national watch list on Thursday, with Hansen making the preseason cut for the Outland Trophy, awarded to the nation's most outstanding interior lineman.

Van Noy is one of 84 players on the Bronco Nagurski Trophy roster, while Hansen is one of 71 players being considered for the Outland Trophy.

BYU punter Riley Stephenson was on Wednesday named as one of 25 players on the watch list for the Ray Guy Award, given to the nation's top punter.

With Riley Nelson named as a preseason nominee for the Maxwell Award (most outstanding player), BYU now has four players appearing on national award watch lists. Friday will see the release of the watch list for the Jim Thorpe Award, given to the nation's most outstanding defensive back.
