SAN DIEGO (AP) - Brock Zylstra scored 17 points and BYU used its long-range shooting for an 82-63 victory against San Diego on Monday night.
The Cougars (16-4, 5-1 West Coast) won a fifth straight game since dropping their inaugural WCC opener at Saint Mary's. Charles Abouo and Matt Carlino added 14 points each and Brandon Davies had 12 points and 12 rebounds.
Dennis Kramer tied his career high with 15 points for San Diego (6-11, 1-4). Johnny Dee added 12 points and Christopher Anderson 11.

Zylstra had a quiet first half but hit a 3- pointer with 4.5 seconds remaining to give the Cougars a 37-29 halftime lead. The junior hit 4 of 6 shots from 3-point range in the second half as the Cougars took control.
BYU, which beat San Diego 88-52 at home on Dec. 31, finished 11 of 24 from 3-point range.
It was the seventh time this season the Cougars have made at least 10 3-point shots.
BYU got off to a slow start but got back into the game with its 3-point shooting and big advantage on the boards. The Cougars held a 46-28 edge in rebounding. Abouo, Carlino and Zylstra had seven rebounds each.
Zylstra and Abouo got BYU off to a quick start in the second half as Zylstra hit a 3-pointer and Abouo made a jumper on BYU's first two possessions for a 42-29 lead.
San Diego was able to cut the BYU lead to single digits just once in the second half.
The Toreros, who were coming off a 75-62 win at Santa Clara on Thursday that snapped a 17-game road losing streak, jumped out to a 9-2 lead 4½ minutes into the game as the Cougars missed nine of their first 10 shots.
BYU tied the game at 17-all on Abouo's jumper. On the next possession, Carlino made two free throws, with the first giving the Cougars their first lead. BYU never trailed again.
Kramer was the only consistent scorer for San Diego in the first half, as he had 13 points, including nine of the Toreros' first 13 points.
San Diego - which has equaled its win total from last season, when it finished 6-24 - hit just 40.7 percent of its shots.
