SALT LAKE CITY -- A Veterans Day tribute created by a member of the 419th Fighter Wing at Hill Air Force Base is gaining popularity on YouTube. The three-part series honors current and former members of Utah's Air Force Reserves.

Lt. Col. Christopher Morgan created the salute to veterans. It includes stories from the World War II era through the present-day war in Afghanistan. He and Kari Tilton of the 419th Fighter Wing public affairs joined KSL Thursday morning.

Morgan says he was asked three years ago to make a documentary that would highlight the history of the 419th. The 35-minute documentary was distributed primarily to members of the 419th.

"Kari approached me and thought it would be a great time to present it to the general public," he says.

Morgan had no idea the history of the 419th is so rich.

"I ended up interviewing over 25 individuals, from staff sergeants who fought in Iraq to major generals now retired," he says.

"The response from the community has been really outstanding. We've been doing this for about eight months now. Our Facebook (page) has about 900 fans and the YouTube channel has about 8,000 views so far. So, for being one of the smaller units at Hill Air Force Base, we're really thrilled," he says.
