SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- The Utah Board of Pardons has denied parole for Addam Swapp.
Swapp is serving time in an Arizona federal prison for his role in the death of an officer during a stand-off with police at the Singer-Swapp polygamous compound in 1988.
Swapp is serving a sentence of up to 15 years for manslaughter in the death of Lieutenant Fred House.
House was a dog handler with the Corrections Department who was shot during the 13-day stand-off. Although Swapp did NOT fire the shot that killed House it is believed he was the one who led the family into the confrontation.
At his March parole hearing Swapp apologized and said he's given up violence for good.
The board of pardons announced today they will hold another parole hearing for Swapp in 2012.
