OGDEN, Utah (AP) -- Officials at Weber State University are trying to figure out if students broke the rules when they burned campaign signs following student elections.
The sign burning reportedly took place earlier this month. That's when university officials say some of the students who were involved in the elections reportedly burned the signs at a private event.
The sign of one of the candidates --- who ran for president --- was apparently burned without his permission. Police say pictures of the incident later appeared on facebook.com.
School officials say the university does NOT condone the actions taken at the bonfire. They say if they find any school violations were broken, action will be taken.
