CEDAR CITY, Utah (AP) -- A man accused in the shooting of a police officer will go to trial.
This week, 30-year-old Bryan Featherhat was bound over for trial after a judge ruled there was enough evidence in the case. The man is charged with attempted aggravated murder, aggravated robbery and theft.
Court records say the judge heard testimony from several witnesses, including Officer Jason Thomas. Police say Thomas had stopped to help Featherhat after his car got stuck in the snow during a January storm. Authorities say Featherhat reportedly shot the officer twice and then fled the scene.
A short time later, he was arrested.
His next court hearing is scheduled April 17.
