Scott Haws
Anchor

Scott Haws joined the Eyewitness News Team in the summer of 2003 and appears weekday mornings from 5:00 to 7:00 AM on Eyewitness News Today and Eyewitness News at Noon. After graduating from Brigham Young University in Broadcast Communications, Scott began his career in Medford, Oregon, as a weekend anchor. Prior to returning to Utah, Scott spent six years as an anchor/reporter for the NBC affiliate KVBC Channel 3 in Las Vegas with most of his time there spent as the station's weekday morning and noon anchor.

Over the years, Scott has built strong ties with several non-profit organizations including Candlelighters for Childhood Cancer, Make-A-Wish Foundation, and the Terry Fox Foundation. Scott is also the founder and Executive Director of the S.P.I.N. Foundation (Supporting People In Need). In conjunction with the S.P.I.N. Foundation's 2002 "Race to Remember," Scott pedaled his bike over 3,000 miles, from Los Angeles to New York City, for the first anniversary of the September 11th attacks, raising thousands of dollars for people in need. Along with his passion for cycling, Scott played baseball at BYU and became the first player in Cougar history to win 20 games in just two years. Scott loves the outdoors, including fishing, skiing, hiking and camping.

Scott grew up in Beaverton, Oregon, and served an LDS mission in Padova, Italy. His wife Renee is from Salt Lake City and attended both the University of Utah and Brigham Young. They have four children, Tyler, Adam, Allyson and Lydia.
