CLINTON CITY — An Amber Alert has been issued after a reported noncustodial child abduction involving two children in Clinton Thursday afternoon.

According to Clinton City Police, noncustodial parents Monica Martinez and Chris Montoya showed up at the children’s residence under the influence of a controlled substance in Clinton around 3 p.m. Thursday.

Police said the two then took both 3-year-old Marae Montoya and 11-month-old Cynthia Montoya from a babysitter without her permission. Both children had been held in state custody. Marae was last seen wearing cream-colored leggings and a pink long sleeve top with a picture on the front. Cynthia was last seen with purple and white polka dot pajama pants and a white top.

Martinez and Chris Montoya are believed to be driving a white 4-door Cadillac, according to police. The license plate is E718JT.

Police said the children are endangered because Martinez and Montoya are “believed to be under the influence of a controlled substance, have mental issues, have violent tendencies and are transient.”

Martinez, 27, was last seen wearing a black spaghetti strap tank top, lighter blue jeans, glasses, a rosary type necklace and has black hair down just below the shoulder. She is described as 5-foot-5 and 105 pounds with brown hair and eyes. Chris Montoya, 35, was last seen wearing a red shirt, dark colored jeans, and is bald with large joker style tattoo on his head. Police describe him as 5-foot-9 and 175 pounds with hazel eyes.

Police said the suspects are possibly armed.

The Davis County Child Abduction Response Team is assisting Clinton City Police in searching for the missing children.

Anyone with information about any of these individuals' whereabouts is asked to contact Clinton police at 801-451-4151.
