BOUNTIFUL — A high school cheerleading coach and former counselor from BYU's Especially For Youth program has been arrested and accused of sexually abusing a teenage boy who attended the camp.

Keldon Sevren "KC" Cook, 29, was arrested by Bountiful police on Thursday for investigation of three counts of forcible sodomy.

Police say Cook was a counselor in the program that offers religious instruction and wholesome social activities for LDS teens.

In 2012, a 14-year-old boy attended a weeklong Especially For Youth activity where he met Cook. "KC held a position of special trust acting (as) his EFY youth counselor," a Davis County Jail report states.

On one occasion, the two exchanged nude Snapchat pictures of themselves, according to the report. The two kept in contact for two years. Then in 2014, "the juvenile and KC met for a 'Temple Night' by the LDS Bountiful Temple to catch up," the report states.

The two then went to a North Salt Lake park where a sex act was performed, police said. The two allegedly engaged in sex acts at the park at least two more times in the following months. On one occasion, Cook picked up the teen at his house and drove him to the park, the report states.

No criminal charges have been filed in the case.

Cook had been the assistant cheerleading coach for Alta High School for the 2014-15 school year and was offered the head cheer coach position at Brighton High School for next year, according to the Canyons School District. But as of Friday, the district said it had fired Cook and terminated contract negotiations.

Cook was not a teacher in the district.
