Posted Feb 13th - 11:10pm by Dave Noriega

NEW ORLEANS - Coming off a very good win against the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday, the Jazz were just 48 minutes from winning their first two games of this brutal back-to-back-to-back road trip.

Jazz blog: Millsap loves Utah, not sure if he'll be back

Posted Jul 9th - 3:37pm by Dave Noriega

Five years in the league, Paul Millsap has never been better.

Last year as a full time starter, Millsap set career highs in points (17.3), minutes (34.3), assists (2.5), steals (1.4) , 3 point (39%) And free throw percentage (75%).

And while the NBA lockout has thrown a curve to fans, Millsap says he hasn't changed his approach to this season.

Jazz blog: The good, bad and ugly of nicknames

Posted Jun 27th - 11:08am by Dave Noriega

There is nothing we will not debate.

In the sports department we have a wide variety of loves and interests. Some of us like comic books, others like movies. Music, professional wrestling and restaurants.

Oh yeah and sports.

Jazz blog: Remember Booing Hayward?

Jazz blog: Stop trying to win

We have an intern right now that is a crack. He's a sports nut like the rest of us. He has a gloriously polished chrome-dome, thick rimmed glasses and an insatiable appetite for hypotheticals. Some are appropriate for print, some are not.

Jazz blog: Patience in Miles pays off

Could it be?

Jazz blog: Bell vehement over lineup change

Posted Mar 15th - 6:58pm by Dave Noriega

Monday, Raja Bell was listed as a game-time decision with a sprained right toe.

New head coach Ty Corbin penciled C.J. Miles into the starting line to replace Bell.

When Bell told Corbin he was good to play, Corbin said he was going to leave Miles in the starting lineup. That brief conversation did not go over well with the 10 year NBA vet.

Jazz blog: Just a jumpshot away

What would happen if Nolan Ryan lost his fastball?

Or if linebackers stopped falling for Barry Sanders jukes?

What if Hakeem Olajuwon's "Dream Shake" was called a travel?

Jazz pregame notes vs. Lakers

Posted Jan 25th - 1:45am by Dave Noriega

One of the great unheralded resources to us sports guys is the Sports Information Director.

Each team has one (or several). They usually come with different titles, but they are the liaisons between the media and the players/coaches. They are also fountains of knowledge.

The Jazz have their gaggle of uber-Jazz nerds, Linda Luchetti, Jonathan Rinehart, Derek Garduno and Hannah Lee... but I'm going to single out Derek Garduno because he sends me some incredible pregame info that I need to pass along.

Jazz blog: That was embarrassing

Posted Jan 25th - 12:17am by Dave Noriega

I grew up playing a lot of sports.

Practice everyday (sometimes twice) required a lot of dressing and undressing in the locker room. You develop a certain level of comfort of being partially clad or leafless.

If you are embarrassed by the sight of skin, you won't last long in the locker room. You will die of shame.
