SALT LAKE CITY — Two Utah congressmen were named Tuesday to serve as chairmen of key House committees.

Rep. Jason Chaffetz, R-Utah, will head the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, while Rep. Rob Bishop, R-Utah, is the new House Natural Resources Committee chairman.

Chaffetz said he is "fully committed to taking on difficult tasks that a chairmanship requires." He said the committee will "continue to ensure that taxpayers’ investment in government is spent effectively, efficiently and transparently."

Bishop said he will "work to ensure that our unique and abundant federal resources are properly managed and that a fair balance is reached between conservation and multiple use."
