SALT LAKE CITY — A closer look at downtown shopping centers: We'll talk with general managers from City Creek and the Gateway about the first year of competition and plans for the future. Plus, Fix the Debt Utah. The state's top political party leaders stop by to discuss the bi-partisan movement and how we can all take action. And at 6-foot 7-inches, this BYU college student has a unique view. Dave McCann goes one-on-one with volleyball player Jen Hamson.

Segment 1

This weekend City Creek Center celebrated its first anniversary. It has had a huge impact on downtown, as did The Gateway when it opened in 2001.

Many people have wondered about the competition between the two malls as well as Trolley Square. Linda Wardell general manager of City Creek, Scott Bennett general manager of the Gateway, Jason Mathis from the Downtown Alliance and Jason Lee business reporter for the Deseret News sit down together to talk about the future.

Segment 2

The non-partisan campaign "Fix the Debt" is gaining the support of Americans from all walks of life who want common sense solutions to fix the nation's debt crisis. Here in Utah the movement has support from business and community leaders including the state's top political party leaders. Thomas Wright and Jim Dabakis explained the campaign to Richard Piatt.

Segment 3

Jennifer Hamson is a two-sport college athlete from Lindon. She is an All-American in volleyball at BYU and an impressive center on the basketball team. But when the games end and the crowds disperse, she is still a 6-foot 7-inch co-ed.
