SAN DIEGO (AP) — Southern California authorities are looking for a wedding thief who steals wallets, credit cards and other valuables on the couple's happiest day without so much as an "I do."

The San Diego County Sheriff's Department says an arrest warrant has been issued for 50-year-old Denise Louise Burns — also known as Denise Gunderson.

Investigators say Burns pretends to be a wedding guest, makes her way to the bridal suite and helps herself to wallets, cash and credit cards during the ceremony.

Detective Lisa Jenkins says Burns immediately heads to the store to use the stolen cards.

Jenkins says Burns has pulled off heists during a half-dozen weddings in San Diego, Riverside and San Bernardino counties.

The detective says when it comes to brazen crimes, Burns "takes the cake."
