SALT LAKE CITY — Utah senior guard Delon Wright has been named the Pac-12 men’s basketball Player of the Week Monday.

Wright averaged 20.5 points, eight rebounds, 3.5 assists and three steals in his play against BYU and Kansas, and recorded his first double-double in Utah’s 65-61 win over BYU. The award is the second time Wright has been named a player of the week twice since joining Utah last season.

Wright is currently projected as a first round draft pick in the upcoming NBA draft, according to ESPN, and has been instrumental in Utah’s No. 14 ranking in the latest Associated Press poll.

The senior is averaging 16.2 points, 5.4 rebounds, 4.8 assists per game and is averaging 59.8 percent shooting. Wright ranks fourth in the Pac-12 in his assist-to-turnover ratio (2.53), sixth in field goal percentage (59.8 percent), assists (4.8) and seventh in scoring (16.2).

Wright is the fifth player to receive the weekly honor this season. Others to receive the honor this year include California’s Tyrone Wallace (twice), UCLA’s Norman Powell and Arizona’s Stanley Johnson.

Utah will play UNLV in the MGM Grand Showcase Saturday at 9:30 p.m. on ESPN2.
