SALT LAKE CITY — The BYU Cougars finally ended their drought over the Boise State Broncos with a dominant 37-20 victory. As a result, the KSL Sports team has named BYU quarterback Taysom Hill this week's Player of the Week for the second time.
Player of the Week:
Taysom Hill, QB, BYU
Taysom Hill accounted for 408 yards of total offense in pacing BYU to a 37-20 home win over Boise State — a victory that snapped the Broncos' 50-game October win streak. Hill completed 27 of 41 passes for 339 yards and three touchdowns, with no interceptions; he also carried the ball 18 times for 69 yards and one touchdown. Hill is currently the only FBS quarterback with 600-plus yards rushing (841) and 2,000-plus yards passing (2,019) on the season.
Honorable mention:
Trevor Reilly, DE, Utah
Despite a poor showing from the Utah offense, defensive end Trevor Reilly made it extremely difficult for the Trojans offense to move the ball. Reilly ended the game with 11 total tackles and two sacks, holding the Trojans to only 19 points.
