SALT LAKE CITY — The BYU Cougars and Utah State Aggies came away from road trips with victories last Saturday, while Utah found itself on the losing end to conference opponent Arizona. Taysom Hill put up monstrous numbers as the Cougars went on to beat Houston. As a result, Hill is this week's ksl.com Player of the Week.

Player of the Week:

Taysom Hill, QB, BYU

Taysom Hill amassed a career-high 545 yards in total offense, leading BYU to a 47-46 win at previously unbeaten Houston — a victory secured when Hill completed the game-winning touchdown pass with 1:08 to play. Hill's total-yardage tally ranks No. 9 on BYU's all-time single-game list. Hill completed 29 of 44 passes (66 percent) for a career-high 417 yards and four touchdowns (with three interceptions), ending the day with a pass efficiency rating of 161.9.

Hill is the first BYU quarterback to throw for more than 400 yards in a game since Max Hall in 2008. Hill carried the load on the ground as well, rushing for a team-high 128 yards on a personal-high 34 carries — his third game with 100 or more yards on the ground this year. Hill passed Steve Young (1,084) to now rank No. 3 on BYU's career QB rushing list, with 1,108 yards to date. Hill's performance marks the first time a BYU quarterback has ever thrown for more than 400 yards and rushed for more than 100 yards in the same game.

Honorable mention:

Trevor Reilly, DE, Utah

Despite losing to Arizona, senior Trevor Reilly made it difficult for the Arizona offense to move the ball. Reilly had 14 total tackles — 11 were unassisted — three tackles for a loss of 13 yards and had two sacks for a loss of 11 yards. Reilly also managed to recover a fumble in the fourth quarter to give Utah good field position and a chance to win the game.

Joey DeMartino, RB, Utah State

The senior running back rushed for a career-high 144-yards and scored four touchdowns as a part of Utah State's season-high 337 yards rushing. DeMartino rushed for three touchdowns and caught a career-high three receptions for 41 yards, including a 21-yard touchdown pass from Darell Garretson. This is DeMartino's third 100-yard rushing performance of the season.
