In 1897, St. George received its heaviest snowfall for so late in the season with 4 inches. With the fresh snow cover, the city dropped to 10 degrees the next morning. In 2003, a storm packing 75 mph winds and 1 to 2 feet of snow hit the Wasatch and Uinta mountains while the valleys remained relatively dry.
