Utah Symphony | Utah Opera recently announced the 2014-2015 season for Utah Symphony and Utah Opera, as well as the 2014 Deer Valley Music Festival.
This summer, the Deer Valley Musical in Park City will feature the likes of Kenny Rogers, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Ben Folds and the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.
Between October 2014 and May 2015, Utah Opera will premiere Georges (Zorge—like George but with a Z to start) Bizet's (biz-EH) "The Pearl Fishers" and Igor Stravinsky's "The Rake's Progress." Utah Opera will also perform two beloved operas - Giacomo (JAW-cah-mo) Puccini's (poo-CHEEN-y) "Madame Butterfly" and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's "Cosi fan tutte." (coZY fahn TOOT-eh) All four productions will be staged at the newly renovated Capitol Theatre.
For the Utah Symphony 2014-2015 season, Maestro Thierry (terry) Fischer will lead the Symphony at Abravanel Hall. More than 60 pieces of repertoire spanning 250 years will be performed, including the premiere of EOS (EE-ohs) a new work commissioned by the Utah Symphony.
