This is Lane Beattie of the Salt Lake Chamber with your Utah Business Report.
Saturday marked the end of "Eat Local Week," a community-wide celebration of local agriculture.
Through a series of events and activities, Eat Local Week increases awareness of food production, transportation and consumption, while educating our community about the benefits of eating locally. The week also aimed to support local food producers, growers, farmers and purveyors.
A cornerstone of Eat Local Week is the Eat Local Challenge, which encourages Utahns to eat only food that comes from within a 250 mile radius for at least a week. And though Eat Local Week is over, you can still learn more about local food and how changing small daily habits can have a profound effect on health, economy and diet.
Have you eaten locally lately? --- With roots that date back more than 125 years, the Salt Lake Chamber is Utah's business leader representing more than 78-hundred businesses across all 29 counties in our state. Learn how your business can get involved by visiting slchamber.com.
