This is Lane Beattie of the Salt Lake Chamber with your Utah Business Report.

The Downtown Alliance is calling for volunteers to become Downtown Ambassadors. Ambassadors will maintain a visible and hospitable presence in the downtown area. They will be easy to recognize with bright yellow vests and will provide street-level concierge services downtown Monday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Volunteers will be trained to offer directions, helpful information and recommendations on things to see and do, and places to visit, shop and dine. They will provide assistance with the GREENBike program, parking meters and other parking options downtown.

Ambassadors will also make an effort to keep downtown safe. They will be prepared to assist in the case of an emergency and also report any illegal activity or suspicious behavior to the Salt Lake City Police.

In exchange for a minimum of two-3-hour shifts per month, volunteers will receive various benefits from discounts, tickets and gift cards to downtown partners. Come help improve the quality of life for everyone downtown! You can learn more at DowntownSLC.org.
