This is Marty Carpenter of the Salt Lake Chamber with your Utah Business Report.

Friends for Sight welcomes Kate Edwards as its new Executive Director. She previously served as Director of Development of the Waterford School. Edwards takes over for Colleen Malouf, who retired after 28 years of service.

Friends for Sight screens 25-thousand people each year. In fact, over the last 58 years, 558-thousand pre-school-aged children have had their sight examined by Friends for Sight.

Each year, the nonprofit organization trains 250 volunteers to screen at 300 locations.

Since 1955, Friends for Sight has been committed to preserving sight for the people of Utah. Working with elementary and secondary schools, businesses and community centers, Friends for Sight has vision screened over 1.1 million people to see a clearer, brighter future.

Thousands of Utahns take advantage of the option to donate two dollars for Friends for Sight when renewing their driver's license and car registration. That donation helps save sight for people across our state.
