Your wedding is a day you never want to forget. And you want every detail to be perfect. If live entertainment is on the table, Josh Scott and the team at Utah Jive want to provide the ultimate entertainment experience.
Utah Jive prides themselves on being Utah's premier event entertainment company, offering a variety of services related to event entertainment. Their niche is weddings; however, they handle some 450 events every year, including corporate, private and holiday parties and events during the Sundance Film Festival.
Utah Jive has two main focuses: the premier provider of DJs and photo booths in Utah. This means more than just music; it includes a master of ceremonies to facilitate the event and make sure everything goes smoothly. For the photography side of the business, Josh has 12 technicians who set up and run photo booths. They provide funny props for the pictures, and print them on the spot. They have a staff of four professional event planners that make events come alive. Clients work exclusively with their event planner from formulating the initial concept through event follow up.
While at a wedding, Josh saw the disconnect between the DJ and the guests. As a college student, Josh wasn't an entertainment expert, but he had a background in the music industry and saw an opportunity. He became one of the original Utah Jive DJs and bought the company from the original founder two years ago. The company handles events across the state. Utah Jive recently won a KSL A-list award for event planner of the year.
Community support is also very important to Utah Jive. Josh says they've helped raise over $25,000 for local charities and non-profit organizations. It's a source of pride for them to give back to the community whether it's sponsoring events, planning 10K and Fun Runs or donating to the Utah Food Bank.
