Because of their conservative nature, they still have the first machine they bought on credit 30 years ago, and their idea has always been to not use their company profits or money that's not theirs. They always pay their bills before they do anything else. Robert and Sue believe in keeping their machines in perfect working order and not extending their credit just to get the latest and greatest. At Robert A Johnson Excavating, they don't believe you'll get paid when they get paid; they simply pay their bills as soon as they get them. This guiding principle has been a secret to their success.
