John Maynard has always had a passion for firearms and proper gun etiquette, with a healthy respect for both. As an adult, he took his passion to the next level and started a gun company. But, he soon learned it was hard to find exactly the right place to test guns, especially on the south end of the Salt Lake Valley. So, he and his business partner, Charles Beck, decided they were perfectly positioned to fill this need and opened the Gun Vault in South Jordan about 13 months ago.
The Gun Vault is an indoor gun range complete with a retail area and a shooting range with a members-only VIP lounge where people can store their guns right on site. People love this storage offer because their guns are much more accessible and secure. The Gun Vault's 25,000 square foot operation is located at1231 W. South Jordan Pkwy in South Jordan. It's a state-of-the-art facility the owners designed and built themselves, complete with an observation deck.
In addition to the shooting range and gun storage, the Gun Vault's on-site retail location is where you can buy guns and related supplies. A growing demographic for this sport is women, and they've found two distinct markets within the women's side of the business. The first wants nothing feminine and is interested only in what's offered to the general public while the other side wants everything feminine, which is why they have a dedicated women's line.
For those enrolled in the VIP program, there's a special lounge and deck, complete with laser-simulated courses and extended hours. There are discounts on guns, ammo, classes and periodic offers not available to the general public. The Gun Vault also has a kitchen area available for any special events.
Recreation in Utah is big business with a diverse tourism, travel and recreation industry. It generates thousands of jobs and is a significant part of our state GDP, in billions of dollars every year. John is contributing to this thriving industry through his business, The Gun Vault=.
