This is Chris Redgrave for Zions Bank Speaking on Business.

Tonia Jacobs still vividly remembers the smell of the chemicals in her grandfather's photography studio where she went every day as a young child. She loved helping with photo shoots and asking to try out new equipment, especially as she got older. He was a wedding photographer in Las Vegas, and she would help him out after school. Grandma was the retoucher and would hand paint photos, the original PhotoShop. That's where Tonia developed a passion for photography, which she is still using today with her business, Edge of Expression Photography in South Jordan.

Tonia has been a professional photographer for eight years. But unlike others, she likes to look at things a little differently, to catch the expression of what makes you who you are. No small feat when you consider the amount of photos that will be taken this year, around 880 billion, according to a recent presentation on Yahoo.

Tonia photographs everything from kids and families to weddings. One of her favorite subjects at Edge of Expression is high school seniors, kids loaded with personality, ambition and attitude, all excited about who they are, what makes them special and where life might take them. Tonia seeks out information, asking students to talk about themselves and their dreams. This helps her find ideas to express through the lens, from camera angles to form.

They're always looking for inspiration and photography ideas at Edge of Expression. It comes with the territory when you choose to go out and capture life, one frame at a time. Tonia is the artist and likes to shoot, while her husband, Robert, an important supporter for her studio, helps handle the business side of things.

Working with her grandfather left a legacy that Tonia picked up on and turned into her livelihood. It also left her with a sense of giving and purpose, which is why Edge of Expression is working to participate in community organizations, especially in photographing stillborn babies, to bring comfort to their families. Tonia is also looking at expanding into pet photography.

For Zions Bank, I'm Chris Redgrave, speaking on business.
