• Best Friends Animal Society is the largest no-kill animal sanctuary in the world. At any given time they have up to 1,700 animals which include horses, cats, dogs, bunnies and even rehabilitating wildlife, all living in one of Southern Utah's most pristine canyons .... Under the leadership of Gregory Castle, president and CEO, these animals are rehabilitated through love and kindness. • When creating Willie's Hot Oil Service in the 70s, Willie Smith decided to settle in rural community in Utah where he had a better chance of establishing himself ... Now 36 years later, he and his wife, Virginia, have proudly built up several legacy businesses they're leaving equally to their five children. They support the Uintah Basin energy industry by leasing out pump trucks to the major oil companies. • Roosters Brewing Company started out as one of the anchor tenants on Historic 25th Street in Ogden during the renovation in the mid 90s. They were Ogden's first micro-brewery and with a second location in Layton, they now count a combined 170 employees. • When oil is pumped from the ground, it's mixed with ancient sea water, an important part of forming the deposit. The water must be treated and disposed of in an environmentally safe manner. At Integrated Water Management, that's exactly what they do in their state-of-the-art environmental mitigation facility in Duchesne. Owner JT Martin says water is cleaned of all hydrocarbons and is then returned to the ground, in a deep well miles below the earth's surface and safely away from the underground water table. • High Country Fusion, in Fairview, Idaho, specializes in high-density polyethylene (polly-eth-ahh-lean) pipe. They're a manufacturer, distributor and servicer, as well as offering the equipment to support the pipe. Company president Steve Wilson says this is heavy-duty industrial pipe intended to last at least 100 years
