This is Chris Redgrave for Zions Bank Speaking on Business.

There's a lot of advocacy for healthy lungs in the state of Utah. We have challenges facing us from the standpoint of living in a bowl-shaped valley surrounded by mountains. One of the big initiatives is improving our quality of air.

If you don't have issues with breathing, you probably take it for granted, as something that your body just does naturally. But if you're battling a condition like cardio pulmonary disease or lung cancer, every breath can be a struggle. That's why organizations like the American Lung Association, which help fund research and grants related to lung diseases, is so critical.

For 100 years the American Lung Association has been a champion for people affected by lung disease. Today, the organization enjoys high levels of awareness and trust from the public and is well respected for basing its prevention, education and advocacy actions on proven science. Supporting the efforts of this nationwide organization, with a chapter in Utah, is critically important.

On Saturday, Feb. 22, the American Lung Association will be sponsoring their 2014 "Fight for the Air" Climb. This year's climb will be held at the Zions Bank Tower at 1 South Main Street in downtown Salt Lake City. Participants, including a group of firefighters, will be climbing 18 floors at the Zions Bank Building to raise money for the American Lung Association. For more information or to register, visit www.lung.org.

Speaking on Business is now on video. Check out the video edition of our radio program on the Zions Direct TV YouTube Channel. That's Zions Direct TV.
