Art has always been a way of life for Gary Streadbeck... While he was growing up, his dad, a department head at the University of Utah, dragged his family across Europe looking at different artwork.... This cultivated a love for art in all of his children .... Eventually that passion for art lead to the creation of the Adonis Bronze followed by the Alpine Art Center in 1998....
Alpine Art Center sits on 11 acres that also house a garden and bronzing facility... The business started as Adonis (uhh-dawn-iss) Bronze Foundry, which Gary, Brian and Steve Streadbeck launched in 1986 in Orem ... They now cater to 200 nationally recognized artists who bring their artwork to the Adonis team to create for them. It's a full-service foundry from small conceptual models to finished bronze sculptures which span all sizes, from just a few inches to life size or larger....Projects come in from all over the world...
Gary and his brothers were pleased with the success of Adonis Bronze. But soon, they began to build toward a greater vision of what they wanted for the business.... That's how they built the Alpine Art Center in 1998, a showpiece that became an art center to cater to artists' needs along with a place to show off their beautiful artwork...Not to mention it's a popular venue for all types of events.
Alpine Art Center has two large art galleries where the artwork on display is available for sale... They also feature art classes and studio space, so there's something for everyone.
In addition, Alpine Art Center does full service events that include catering, decoration and setup... The gardens take up about three acres but Gary says they plan to keep on expanding.... Events include everything from corporate luncheons to Christmas parties to wedding luncheons and ceremonies...
Repeat customers are huge for Alpine Art Center and Adonis Bronze — that's why their employee base now includes 48 for the foundry and 18 for events. They're adding to Utah's employment base
