This is Chris Redgrave for Zions Bank Speaking on Business.

A recent study by the U.S. Office of Travel and Tourism revealed that nearly 15.4 million overseas travelers who came to the U.S. were cultural heritage travelers. Cultural heritage tourism is becoming one of the leading reasons people travel. Cities and towns across America are discovering how the preservation of historic, cultural and natural resources combines with tourism to sustain local economies. Here in Utah Clive Romney is heading up the effort with Utah Pioneer Heritage Arts.

As the executive director of Utah Pioneer Heritage Arts, Clive says it's cultural heritage collaboration between the business community, government, education and individual heritage arts practitioners. They work to create inspiration and entertainment, capturing Utah's folk arts and delivering them through the arts.

Right now their big project at Utah Pioneer Heritage Arts is a CD series for each of Utah's 29 counties. Each CD has stories, artwork and music telling the unique stories and history of the county.... Clive says they wanted to make it memorable and exciting for those who will be listening.

This is the sixth year for Utah Pioneer Heritage Arts, and they have more demand than they can possibly respond to with people, organizations, counties and other associations all wanting to learn more.... What they're working to establish now is called Storyroad Utah. It's geofencing so when people are traveling, they can see where a story is and how to stop and see it.

For Zions Bank, I'm Chris Redgrave, speaking on business.
