This is Chris Redgrave for Zions Bank Speaking on Business.

Times change, especially when you're talking about business and manufacturing. Take the former 1,700 acre Geneva Steel site that lies on the east shore of Utah Lake in Vineyard, one of the most densely developed areas in Utah County....

When Gerald Anderson, owner and founder of Anderson Development of Salt Lake City took a look at all this land, he realized he was face to face with an incredible opportunity ... He immediately shared the vision with his staff, and the result of that vision is a project called Geneva.

This is a true master planned development, with mixed use, housing, commercial, office and light industrial projects on the drawing board...Geneva will include over 7,000 new residences, three million square feet of office space, 2.1 million square feet of retail and 5.5 million square feet of industrial uses... Many companies have already committed to retail and entertainment spaces, along with renting office space... Plus, over 26,000 new residents will be added to Vineyard with the project's completion, through apartments and single family homes. The idea is simple — live at Geneva, work at Geneva, play at Geneva.

And then there's the Vineyard Connector, a road to connect the communities north and west of Utah Lake to the development and I-15 for total commuter access. This will be a new state road, a major five to seven lane expressway, designed to bring significant commuter traffic through the project .... Geneva Road, the main thoroughfare at the east boundary of the project, recently completed a major widening project with UDOT...

Geneva will also be a transportation hub with Frontrunner and light rail going through. All in all, the scale will be enormous. To give some perspective, one average downtown city block is about 10 acres in size, so you can imagine how big Geneva is with its 1700 acres of space... What was once the site of a thriving steel producer will now be a thriving area again ... In the heart of Utah County, Geneva will be true master-planned community.

For Zions Bank, I'm Chris Redgrave, speaking on business.
