This is Chris Redgrave for Zions Bank Speaking on Business.

The business climate in Utah is rocking right now. We're on the national map for everything from our economic climate to being one of the top states in the nation to start a new business. Not to mention Forbes magazine has named Utah as the Best State for Business for three years running.

Next week, on October 22, the Mountain West Capital Network will be honoring some of Utah's top companies during the annual Utah 100 Awards Program. At the event they'll recognize Utah's 15 largest revenue companies, 100 fastest growing and a select group of newer emerging elite companies. This is a big event, with around 1,000 business leaders who attend.

Utah 100 Co-Chairs Todd Reece and Quinn Stephens have lead a team of volunteers which has spent hundreds of hours putting this event together to recognize Utah's innovation and business climate. Todd has been impressed to see so many businesses emerge from a challenging economy stronger than before.

You may have heard about other events Mountain West Capital Network sponsors, like Entrepreneur of the Year or the annual Utah Deal Flow report. This is the only document in the state to report public offerings, financing transactions, acquisitions and mergers happening right in Utah. By highlighting deals, Mountain West Capital Network wants to show the strong business deals happening here in our state.

Todd says Utah is great at creating an idea, advancing it and getting it to the point where people can invest in it. This is something the talented group at Mountain West Capital Network will continue to support.

For Zions Bank, I'm Chris Redgrave, speaking on business.
