This is Chris Redgrave for Zions Bank Speaking on Business.

When most people see a junk pile, all they see is junk. For artist Tim Little of Tim Little Art — it's all about possibilities.... That's how his extraordinary artwork is created out of items other people don't care about, like scrap metal ...

The result is one-of-a-kind art pieces. Of course, what he creates at Tim Little Art depends on what metal he has on hand.... Once he made an original collection of 20 different birds, and people loved them... But, he's never made anything similar because he's never found that type of metal again...

The inspiration for Tim to start his business came one day as he was exploring. He found a piece of driftwood, and he could envision it as a dragon head. He was so intrigued he took two weeks off work to start the project. Only a month later he quit his job to pursue his artwork full time.

Each piece at Tim Little Art is personal to Tim..... He names it, and as he goes through the process, he gets attached because of the time and effort put into creating it.... He's self taught, so he's learned most of what he knows simply by experimenting.

Some pieces he creates are commission-based, like the stegosaurus or the elk and mule deer created for someone who was into hunting.... Tim's wife, Teresa, who helps operate the business, said one of their best advertisements has been an 11-foot crab in their front yard called Mama Crusty. The crab's body is made from a 1950s Chevy hood and the legs from 20 Harley Davidson mufflers. They've had several calls from it.

If you'd like to see Tim's artwork, you can check it out at his upcoming home show, from Oct. 25 to the 26, at his gallery in Riverton, 11876 S. 1300 West...He has also become a favorite at trade shows, and some of his upcoming shows, both in Reno, include the WSFF and the Grand Slam Convention, coming up in January 2014...

For Zions Bank, I'm Chris Redgrave, speaking on business.
