This is Chris Redgrave for Zions Bank Speaking on Business.

Cooking is a combination of so many creative elements. It's art, it's a little chemistry, it's the desire to bring the best from the earth to your table every meal, every day....And now, it's for everyone, thanks to Jaxon Stallard of Park City Cooking School...

Owner Jaxon Stallard operates Park City Cooking School, a cooking school for kids to teens, men and women, doctors, lawyers and bankers... In the summertime, Park City Cooking School hosts kids cooking camps, and the youngest child Jaxon has worked with was 6.

One skill she teaches is organization in the kitchen. Many of these kids plan and execute major meals for their families....She taught one girl from the time she was 11 until her 18th birthday and this girl started making the evening meal for her family, planning the menus and making the entire meal.... Her parents were so proud and were really grateful to Park City Cooking School for the extra pair of hands helping out in the kitchen...

Jaxon has lived in Utah for over eleven years now, but went to culinary school after her husband passed away... She attended the Cambridge School of Culinary Arts, but never planned to work at it... Yet she soon grew so fond of it that she started teaching ...After her graduation, a friend talked her to buying a European bakery in California, and she commuted between San Louis Obispo and Boston where she lived at the time.... The experience wasn't what she hoped, so she eventually sold the bakery to move onto other things. It was only a short time later that she opened Park City Cooking School.

Every chef decides if they have a passion for savory cuisine or pastries...For Jaxon, it's pastries she really loves at Park City Cooking School...This includes classic French pastries, but she's also branched into high-altitude baking.... In higher altitude, water boils at a lower temperature, and chemical leaveners, or yeast, react differently... Her food science training is what helped her modify her recipes for high altitude cooking, giving them a newfound texture and flavor...

For Zions Bank, I'm Chris Redgrave, speaking on business.
