Is there anything more exciting than finding an architectural treasure in the middle of the city? That is the experience you'll have when you come upon Green Gate Village Inn in St. George. It is, without a doubt, a collection of some of the most significant pioneer history in Southern Utah, starting with the famous Orson Pratt house on site.
Founders Dr. Green and his wife, Barbara, started it as a bed and breakfast in 1980 with one historic house.... Over a period of years, they expanded to neighboring pioneer homes and brought them to the site, so now there are 14 historic buildings.
Each house has a unique history and a different story of how it ended up here, but it's a popular destination for locals and visitors alike, who love the historical feel with plenty of modern conveniences.... All the homes at Green Gate have their original exterior, but inside you'll find king beds, flat screen TVs and a swimming pool on the property...
Lindy and Ed Sandstrom have owned Green Gate for the past 12 years, and Lindy loves it because she says they have happy guests who want to be here. They love the positive feedback and wonderful guests, who appreciate the historical aspect of this inn...
Each day includes some type meat, an egg dish, and other surprises like Belgian waffles and French toast...You'll find fresh fruit and, of course, their famous baked apples....Judd's General Store next door has homemade soups and salads, vintage treats, candies, bottled sodas, shakes and ice cream...
While Green Gate Village Inn is in the middle of St. George on Tabernacle Street, it's still very quiet and secluded.... There's also the peaceful and historic nature to the property, and the buildings...
