Owners Jeremy Jackson and Brandon LeRoy met while attending college at BYU. They knew they wanted to eventually be in business together, but went their separate ways in the construction field after graduation. It didn't take Brandon long to realize the corporate world wasn't for him.
Careful research indicated a need for home remodeling companies. Most of the East Coast, where he lived, is built out; however, a metro area like Salt Lake City, landlocked by mountains, seemed the perfect place. He teamed up with Jeremy, who had a background in remodeling, and opened Jackson and LeRoy Remodeling seven years ago.
These guys set themselves apart by taking a design/build approach. This means in addition to themselves as a builder, they also bring an architect and interior designer to the table. This way they can provide more accurate budgeting and a better finished project since the whole team is on board from the start. The design matches the client's budget and helps Jackson and LeRoy Remodeling bring a level of sophistication to each job.
This approach is why over 90 percent of their business is referral-based. Jeremy says the size of the job doesn't matter. Their qualification at Jackson and LeRoy is in doing the project right. An important paradigm shift in remodels today is to consider the lifestyle return instead of the financial return. For example, a kitchen remodel is something you can enjoy every day, so the investment is considered worthwhile.
