Further research revealed what a common problem this is where students receive their technical training, a necessary step to compete in today's business world, and then find themselves with a huge debt they have no hope of paying off. This became the inspiration for Cole Holland Training Center in Salt Lake City.
Cole Holland Training Center is an accredited vocational training center that offers various programs in healthcare like Certified Nurse or Medical Assistant, Emergency Medical, HealthCare Technician, Phlebotomy or ECG Technician. They provide all the skills, training, equipment and externships needed to help their students be successful. And this approach is working since they have 100 percent placement in their medical assistant program.
Terri says one of her inspirations for starting Cole Holland Training Center was to create a lasting legacy for women in our community to get a great education and learn to manage their problems more efficiently. This is an important focus since women made up almost 47 percent of the U.S. labor force in 2011 and comprised almost 52 percent of all management, professional and related professions.
Cole Holland Training Center is also contributing to the important Prosperity 2020 business-driven initiative for the state of Utah. This is the goal to have 66 percent of men and women age 25 to 64 earn a postsecondary degree or certificate by the year 2020. It's a big goal but is getting closer every day thanks to institutions like Cole Holland.
