If you like etouffee (eh-too-fay), a spicy Cajun dish typically served with crawfish over rice with collard greens, you can get it right here in Utah! This is thanks to entrepreneur Thaine Fischer and owner/chef John Dearmin of Soul and Bones Restaurant in Ogden.

This BBQ Cajun restaurant is located in the heart of Ogden on Washington Boulevard. At Soul and Bones they smoke the barbecue right on site with real hickory wood to give it that mouth-watering smoky taste. One of their specialties is fried Beehive Cheese curds; however, you also don't want to miss the smoked catfish with candied lime and fresh le' crème.

They just opened the expanded restaurant earlier this year and have been blown away with the response! Soul and Bones opens for lunch at 11 a.m. and it's not unusual for it to be completely packed by dinner. Since moving into their new location, Soul and Bones has increased from serving 30 to 40 guests at a time to 160. They now have 32 employees to help meet demand. Thaine says customers love the food and New Orleans style ambiance and grotto, which includes 54,000 pennies built into the floor and Historic 25th Street artifacts.

Soul and Bones has been a labor of love for John and his wife, Jennifer, who recently passed away. It's been years in the making. They first opened Soul and Bones in 2009 and worked six days a week to build it up until 2011. They chose Ogden not only because of the great business climate but also because it's close to some of John's favorite local farms where he gets ingredients. Forbes Magazine recently ranked Ogden as one of the Best Places for Careers and Business.

Buy Local First is a big deal for Soul and Bones, so they support local as much as possible. On Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, they have live music from 6:30 to 10 p.m., and it's quickly becoming a do not miss!
