This is Chris Redgrave for Zions Bank Speaking on Business.
Seventeen years ago Tracy Gibbs had just graduated from college, was newly married and needed a job. With a doctorate in pharmacognosy, he thought, why not start his own nutritional supplement company — NutraNomics.
At that time, in 1995, he says the dietary supplement business in the United States had some challenges. Labeling wasn't accurate and ingredients were not up to par. His inspiration was for NutraNomics to produce the highest quality of products. His company started creating nutritional formulas and providing raw materials.
Still concerned that even with the proper formulas, the big brands weren't using the best ingredients, they decided to enter the market. So, eight years ago, they launched their line of NutraNomics brand nutritional supplements, including their top-selling product, Total System Enzyme, a patented enzyme designed to increase absorption of all nutrients. They sell their products in 400 health stores around the U.S. and in 16 countries worldwide. You can also buy the products directly from their offices on 114th South and 7th East in Draper or on their website, nutranomics.com.
As an additional service for their customers, NutraNomics has a research lab on-site where you can get your blood tested to determine what your nutritional needs are, and they'll create a plan to help you meet them. They've had great success with this approach, helping one patient improve her asthma enough so she could get off medicine and another man lose weight so he could get a much-needed surgery.
Since over 50 percent of the population takes health supplements every day, this is a big business. Tracy has also seen natural remedies grow in acceptance recently with several clinical studies to back them up. He's engaged with the work NutraNomics is accomplishing in Utah and around the world.
If you'd like to find out more about how to build your company's global presence, you can attend the eleventh annual Zions Bank Trade and Business Conference on May 23. For more information or to register, visit zionsbank.com/conference.
