The final putt has been holed and after 4 days of competition, the high school girls state championships are now in the books. The week pretty much went according to plan as far as some of the winners were concerned but it was closer than what some would have expected.

Let's begin in 5-A. Bingham has driving for its 4th straight state title but had to come from behind to get it with a narrow victory of Davis. The Miners Sirene Blair, the top female golfer in the state took home a state trophy for the 4th consecutive year shooting a 70 at Glen Eagle on Monday. Blair will now take her talents to San Diego to play for the Aztecs.

McCall Uyematsu led Box Elder to the 4A title by shooting 79 at The Barn golf course in Pleasant View. Her 79 was also good enough to win the individual championship.

Deseret Hill continued its dominance with a 4th straight state championship in 3A. The Thunder's Katie Perkins shot 72 on Thursday to win the individual state crown at Schneiters Riverside course.

Carly Jorgensen led Richfield to the 2A girls state championship. Jorgensen shot a 78 at Lakeside in West Bountiful.

St. Joseph's wins the 1A state Championship at Rose park on Wednesday. St. Joseph's Great Schneider won individual honors by shooting 88.

Unlike the other 4 classifications that play in the fall, the 1A boys golf season takes place in the spring. Layton Christian won the 1A boys title in the 2 day tournament at Rose park. Jared Kenny of St, Joseph's won the individual 1A state championship shooting 71 and 75.
