I've been trying to get an update on Jimmer Fredette's NBA workout plans, and it turns out that update will come from head coach Dave Rose tomorrow afternoon in a press availability at the Marriott Center. Early entry candidates have only until Saturday to withdraw their names from the NBA draft and retain college eligibility, so the window in which to fit any workouts is quite small.

In an article published in Fredette's hometown newspaper, the BYU senior-to-be is said to have received invitations from four teams and has workouts set for Monday, Wednesday and Friday of this week.

Rose will meet with the media to discus Fredette's workout schedule and the departure of guard Mike Loyd. I also plan to ask Rose about his recently-conducted spring cancer scan, although I was told by someone within the program that it went well.

Return to Cougar Tracks late tomorrow afternoon to hear audio from Coach Rose's media session in its entirety.

Utah State has set the kickoff time for its Friday, October 1st home game with BYU. The game will kick at 6:00pm, with pregame coverage starting at 4:00pm on KSL Newsradio and ksl.com. The game will be televised on ESPN.

Only the Florida State game on September 18th remains without an assigned start time. Click here for ksl.com's online version of the BYU Football Schedule, accessible within the BYU Sports Menu.

I was happy to read in Jay Drew's blog that Bingham RB sensation Harvey Langi has told a recruiting site BYU is one of his top three schools and the in-state favorite.

The first time I saw Langi in person was in his sophomore season, on a night I was manning the stadium P.A. microphone for Lone Peak High School as the Knights hosted the Miners. I still remember watching him run people over and proving to be the best player on the field as a tenth-grader; he's going to be a beast in college.
