Kylie George is the most deserving teacher to win this award. I have been in her class for three years now and I have never loved a teacher more than her. She is so sympathetic to all of her students. She shows all of her students that she is someone that anyone can talk to. She is so caring to every student. She notices when a student is having a bad day, and she will go out of her way to help that student in any way she can.

My experience with Kylie has changed my life. I will never forget what she did for me. I'm my sophomore year I was having a really hard time with friends. My home life was really hard and I felt like no one cared about me. I thought no one loved me. One day I walked into her class. It was just a normal day at school; and to be honest she wasn't my favorite teacher. I was not excited to be in her class. I wanted very much to leave. There was already so much going on in my life and I didn't want to deal with her class. After class that day she pulled me aside. She asked if everything was okay. She was the first to ever show any concern towards me. I began to feel more comfortable with her. I started to tell her about the events in my life that have been making my life very hard for me. At the time I was very depressed. A few weeks later I went back and talked to her. I told her that I didn't think I could do this anymore. I thought that dying was the answer to all my problems. I don't her that I wanted to die and that if anything did happen I wanted to thank her for showing me that she cared. I had a date of when I was going to kill myself and how I was going to do it. I didn't realize it at the time, but Mrs. George had to tell the administration. Who then called my mom. I was so angry with her. I didn't understand why someone who I trusted so much would do that to me. I went to her class the next morning. She told me she had to. She then explained everything to me. Kylie told me that she didn't want to tell anyone because she wanted me to feel like she was trust worthy. Since she told the administration. I had to go to counseling outside of school. I did not want to do this. I thought that people would think of me as a weird person. I for sure did not want that. My mom made me go every week. I look back on that year so grateful for what happened. Kylie George saved my life. I was really going to kill my s elf and if it wasn't for her I would not have all of the great experiences that I have had up to this point. I would not have all of the things that are going to come into my life. I respect Kylie so much for her courageous actions and telling the administration.

Right now I am a senior in high school. I love her class. I am truly dreading the day of graduation, because I am going to miss Kylie George so much. Right now I still go and talk to her about my life. I love the way she tries to understand you. She gives excellent advice to everyone.

In my opinion teachers are the biggest influence in a kid’s/teens life - good or bad. But Kylie was my biggest influence and the best influence.
