I am working on some interesting stories for next week about Twitter. I tweet when I can about what I'm up to here at work (twitter.com/kslmrichards) and I'm slowly starting to follow more people. But to follow a cat? Seriously? How many of you are one of Ashton Kutcher's 1 million+ followers? Or do you follow David Archuleta? (Confession: I may sign up) I want to know why. So I turned to Pete Codella of the Social Media Club of Salt Lake City. He says following celebrities on Twitter is basically a higher-tech way of reading gossip rags and mags. But Twitter is a more personal connection to the star, because so many of them actually type out those tweets themselves. He also gave some insight as to why a half-million people are following the updates of a cat on Twitter. I'm not going to give away my whole story, but, well, let's just say we people like to be entertained. I guess.
