I met the most incredible couple last week. Ricardo and Suzi Ramos do something many of us don't even consider. They are foster care parents. They have loved and cared for 15 foster children over the past four years three of which they have adopted.
I paid them a visit to learn about their foster care experience. Their home was spotless, the two youngest children who were home were well behaved. Not only could I see how much this couple loves children, but I was in awe of their humble attitude when they talked about the parents of these children and what they had learned from them. There was no sign of judgment.
The only thing they said to me that could be remotely construed as negative was that they quickly get attached to the children and it's emotionally tough to send them back to their parents. But, they also said they are in still in contact with most of the parents and are confident the children are doing well.
You can hear about their experience by listening to Kids' Stuff on "Utah's Afternoon News" page on the website. I hope more people will decide to follow in the footsteps of this remarkable couple.
