Utah fourth-grade chef competing in national 'Healthy Breakfast' challenge

Madysun’s ‘Boil in a Bag Omelet’ recipe has progressed through school, district and regional levels of the Future Chefs competition, which called for participants to create healthy breakfast recipes. There are approximately 600 school districts throughout the nation that participate, and Madysun is the only finalist from the Intermountain West. The final five contenders now rely on the general public to vote on their recipe on Sodexo’s Future Chefs website. Go HERE to vote. Voting ends Sunday, May 1, 2016. Boil in a Bag Omelet recipe: Ingredients: Choose from items below: Eggs Ham Turkey sausage Bell peppers Green onions Mushrooms Onions Cheese Instructions: Pour whisked eggs into freezer bag. Layer meat and veggies as desired. Add cheese last Seal bag and make sure ingredients are coated by egg. Slightly open bag, lay on flat surface and push out extra air. Put in pot of boiling water for 15 minutes. Let sit before 2 minutes before serving.
