Jazz face worst start in 7 years
November 4th, 2009 @ 8:29pm

SALT LAKE CITY -- The Utah Jazz are hurting a bit after Tuesday night's fourth-quarter collapse in Dallas.

The Jazz had a 16-point lead with just over eight minutes left. Then Dirk Nowitzki turned it on: 29 points in the fourth, two points shy of the NBA record for a quarter, which is held by Wilt Chamberlain. The team was outscored 36 to 9 and lost by 11 thanks to the domination of Dirk.

"That's who he is. That's what he's been ever since he's been in the league," said Jazz head coach Jerry Sloan.

"He's Dirk," Jazz point guard Deron Williams said. "You know, he's one of those players who can take over a ballgame and get hot. He's tough to stop."

With that loss, the Jazz are now 1-3--their worst start in seven years.

They're back home Thursday night for an 8:30 p.m. tipoff with the San Antonio Spurs.
