Jerry Sloan started the day with a team meeting going over team rules. Then the season officially began when we were sent out the door and the team practiced for the first time.

When asked if he had a good summer, third year Jazz shooting guard Ronnie Brewer said, "Pretty good summer. I went back home, working out a little bit, but it's time to get back to work. So, I am excited about it."

Back-up point guard Ronnie Price said, "I had a great summer. It feels good to be back. Just being around all the guys again. we're with each other so much during the season we become a family. So, to see your family again and to be around them again is exciting."

"It feels good.. It feels good to be starting the season. I've been ready for this all summer," said point guard Deron Williams. "Playing in the Olympics made me more hungry for the season and I'm ready to get going."

Rookie Kosta Koufas is ready to get going. He and point guard Brevin Knight are the newest Jazzmen. Knight was traded from the Clippers for Jason Hart. When asked how it felt to be the new man on campus, Knight said, "It feels good. It feels real good. I've been playing with them for about 10 days and we've had a great time. Now it's time to get to work and do the real thing."

The Jazz are Knight's 8th NBA team.

One player who was on the roster, but is not here is former Ute Britton Johnsen, who will play for a Ukrainian team this season.
