NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Forward Anthony Davis has left New Orleans' game against Utah with a left ankle injury.

Davis headed off the court after being replaced by Alexis Ajinca with 8:17 to go in the first quarter. The team then announced the injury.

Davis appeared to be grimacing in discomfort during the opening minutes. He was averaging 21.7 points, 10.5 rebounds and 2.9 blocks per game coming into the night.

Shortly before the game, New Orleans ruled out guard Eric Gordon, who has tendinitis in his left knee, and Brian Roberts, who has a bone bruise in his left knee.

The Jazz, meanwhile, decided to sit out reserve guard Alec Burks, who has a left ankle sprain.
