SALT LAKE CITY -- The Utah Jazz have started auditions for the No. 9 pick in the upcoming NBA Draft. Friday, they welcomed Georgetown's 6-foot-11 center Greg Monroe to Salt Lake City, on what happens to be his birthday.

Several mock drafts have the Jazz taking Monroe in the draft, and that would be fine with him.

"You know, this organization, this program, has been successful for a long time; and if I was drafted by them, I'd just come in and try to do what I can to keep that tradition going," Monroe told reporters.

"He's a kid that came out of high school with glowing credentials," said Kevin O'Connor, Jazz vice president of basketball operations. "He's very solid, and I think of anybody coming out of Georgetown would be that."

The Jazz will workout six more prospects on Sunday. The list includes athletic Wake Forest wing Al-Farouq Aminu, Butler's Gordon Hayward, Nevada's Luke Babbitt and Kansas Jayhawk Xavier Henry.

The NBA Draft is scheduled for June 24.
